“I paint on oiled linen on birch boards that fit into my portable pouchade box with my palette, brushes and paints,” she explained. “All I need to paint a landscape takes just a few minutes to set up and weighs less than 12 pounds.” Born in Toronto, Isabelle was inspired by the Canadian Group of Seven, artists who covered the wilderness in canoes to paint the north. The early California plein air artists were her inspiration when she moved there in 1988.
She is a juried member of Oil Painters of America, American Plains Artists and Arizona Artists Guild. Her paintings have been juried into shows by the Central Coast Art Association, Pacific Grove Art Center and Seaside City Art in California, Arizona Artists Guild, Shermer Art Center, American Plains Artists, Oil Painters of America, and the Coos Art Museum in Oregon.
